Module 3: Real Uses

Thinking Partner

2 min read
Sometimes you don't need answers—you need someone to help you think. AI is available 24/7 to help you work through decisions, brainstorm ideas, and see blind spots.

This is one of the most underrated uses of AI. Instead of asking for solutions, use it to think out loud and explore your options.

Decision Helper

The Pros/Cons Analyzer

Weigh your options
I'm trying to decide between: [Option A] and [Option B] Here's my situation: [Context about your goals, constraints, values] Help me think through this by: 1. Listing the real pros and cons of each (not generic ones) 2. Identifying what I might be overlooking 3. Suggesting questions I should ask myself 4. Playing devil's advocate on my leaning (if I share one)

The Assumption Checker

Find blind spots
I'm planning to [action/decision]. My reasoning is: [Explain your thinking] I want you to poke holes in this. What assumptions am I making? What could go wrong that I'm not seeing? What would someone who disagrees say? Be direct—I need honest feedback, not validation.

Brainstorming Partner

The Idea Generator

Break creative blocks
I need ideas for [challenge/project]. Context: - Goal: [what I'm trying to achieve] - Constraints: [budget, time, resources, etc.] - Already tried: [what hasn't worked] Give me 10 ideas ranging from obvious to unconventional. For each, one sentence on why it might work. Don't filter yourself—some wild ideas are fine.

The Rubber Duck

Programmers have a technique called "rubber duck debugging"—explaining your problem out loud to a rubber duck. AI is a much better duck.

Think out loud
I'm stuck on something and need to think out loud. Just listen and help me organize my thoughts. Ask clarifying questions when I'm unclear. Here's what I'm dealing with: [Brain dump your thoughts, messy is fine] Don't try to solve it yet—first help me understand what the actual problem is.

The Key Principle

You make the decision. AI helps you think better.

Don't outsource your judgment. Use AI to explore options, find blind spots, and organize your thinking—then trust yourself to choose.

Try It Now

Think of a decision you're currently wrestling with. Use the Pros/Cons Analyzer or Assumption Checker to get a new perspective. Notice what you hadn't considered.

Key Takeaway
AI is your 24/7 thinking partner. Use it to explore, not to decide.
